Village End are by far the best child care in Berkshire and Ascot. Parent-friendly, flexible, value for money. Our daughter loves going there the staff are so caring and thoughtful. The meals provided are outstanding nutritious and healthy. Top marks from us.

Thank you Chis for your kind comments, it is a pleasure caring for your daughter. It is also great to know that although you have moved out of the area you have decided to make the journey and remain at Village End.

Village End has been absolutely amazing for my granddaughter. The flexibility of care means that it is easy for my daughter and I to share drop off/pick up without being tied to a certain time. The staff are very friendly and always happy to discuss the progress of the children. My granddaughter clearly loves the staff and I feel very happy that she is treated as part of a family in her “home from home”. The mobile app is fantastic. I have never seen anything like it for childcare and it makes things so simple. Village End is the modern-day answer to childcare – catering for busy parents, grandparents who help out and parents who need flexible childcare with no set hours. Very highly recommended.

We are extremely happy to hear the feedback on our staff and our approach. It is very important to us that the children feel we are a “home from home” where they can feel safe, happy and encouraged. We look forward to welcoming your granddaughter and family again soon.

My just turned 2 year old started at Village End at the start of May 2019. I was returning to work in early June after 3 years off, and so I was very concerned about where I wanted my daughter to go, and how I would ease her through the transition of starting nursery. All of the staff at Village End have been approachable, kind, caring and very reassuring. I started my daughter initially with 2/3 hour sessions every couple of days and gradually built up her hours. This meant that I was in and out of the nursery at various times of the day, and so saw many different points of their day. The children are regularly outside in the large garden (big win), or enjoying story time/singing, or indeed my daughters favourite – eating! I am pleased I chose Village End – my daughter has settled well, and I am confident she is enjoying her days there. The flexibility in hours is incredible, as is the fact that I can use term time only hours to suit my job, but also make use of holiday childcare as needed.

Thank you very much, Stacey! Your daughter has settled really well into Village End and has made lots of new friends (in between snack breaks of course!).

I am happy I took my son to Village End. Staff are very friendly and approachable and update me on my child’s day. There are a variety of areas for physical and mental stimulation and learning and development. Staff are always helpful and go the extra mile to support both the child and parents. I am glad that my son recalls and remembers what he has learned during the day.

Thank you so much for your kind words! Your son is a brilliant character within the nursery and has definitely found his feet here!

I am self-employed so I don’t know what hours I’ll be working from one week to the next so this is perfect for me. I was fed up with paying out hundreds of pounds a month for hours I didn’t use or need. Also if I’m running late, I just tap on their mobile-friendly app and send a message. As a mum and business owner, I don’t have time for admin. With their app, I can just send a one-touch form whenever I have a moment. There are always lots of activities for my son to do there so I never feel he gets bored. The staff are friendly and the management team are focused on training and developing their staff, acting on their needs. Summer holidays such a challenge, but with Village End, there is full wrap-around childcare throughout the year with only a couple of weeks off a year. I love the fact that freshly cooked meals cooked on the premises and I don’t have to worry about packed lunches! Seeing them all sit down for dinner is so adorable!

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. Village End is very flexible, therefore for self-employed parents like yourself, our Nursery is just what you need. We have all enjoyed caring for your son and will miss him when he starts big school. Thank you for your comments regarding the App, as I remember you were one of the parents who helped with feedback as we were designing its functionality. Lastly, our freshly cooked meals well that’s all down to the staff as they all love cooking and experimenting with new recipes.

Village End has been our ‘home away from home’ for 10 years, our children are very happy and above all for us that is the most important aspect; they have a flexible, safe environment where they can play, develop, learn and be happy! I cannot praise the staff enough for creating and maintaining this space for my children while I go to work. I have total peace of mind they will be stimulated with numerous activities, fed with home cooked, healthy meals and return home with stories of exciting play time every day. The management and the staff are always on hand at drop off and pick up for any questions, they provide support and any feedback is communicated with consideration and the utmost of care. The teamwork between staff and parent is wonderful, nothing is a ‘problem’ and everything can be ‘worked out’ together for you and the family. Also, to note, the mobile app is pure genius, you can change your sessions in ‘real time’ if running late or you need a few extra hours at short notice!

Thank you for your kind comments Rachel. Yes 10 years, doesn’t time fly! Not long now and your youngest will be moving on to big school. I have copied your comments to the staff as I’m sure they’ll be delighted to read what you had to say about them.

My son has been attending Village End nursery for almost a year now. I really like the simplicity of how the childcare is explained in relation to the free government funding and childcare vouchers, compared to other nurseries who only offered 15 hours funding and were never flexible how these are used. Village End took the stress out of it and are extremely accommodating, understanding and flexible in the matter, they are also very affordable compared to others in the area. My son loves going to nursery, the staff are very friendly and helpful, they provide my son with his meals throughout the day for a small fee, two of which are hot meals for lunch and dinner. The outdoor space is amazing for the children to run around in and the free flow approach allows the children to learn freely. I am very happy that I chose my son to go to Village End and will be sad to leave in September when he leaves to start school.

Thank you Christina. Yes nearly a year, how time flies! Situated a stone’s throw away from Heatherwood Hospital, our nursery is so convenient for NHS staff like yourself. Your son has had a great time at Village End and is now more that ready for big school! Many thanks again for taking time to review us.

7 May 2019: Helen B (Mother of Child)
My son absolutely loves Village End! He has attended on an ad hoc basis for the last 6 months and he is always so excited to tell me what he has been up to in the car after collecting him. All the staff are absolutely amazing and always keep me up to date with his learning progress through Tapestry. The food is all cooked fresh on site and he is always trying new things. I would highly recommend Village End to other parents, especially the ones who just need a few hours here and there and need to alter their days from time to time.

Robert Fielder, , responded on 07 May 2019
Thank you for your feedback, Helen. For parents like you, Village End is ideal as you have been able to book a place at the very last minute. We always keep a few Ad Hoc places open each day for parents who need total flexibility. Regarding fresh produce cooked on site, all the staff love cooking and all take turns trying new menus for the children to try out. I believe your son now loves broccoli? What a big difference to when he first started!

7 May 2019: Sarah T (Mother of Child)
My 2 children have been attending Village End for well over a year. They are very settled at the nursery and absolutely love the staff and the activities available to them each day. There is always a relaxed and calm atmosphere. My children are 2 and 4 and one of the main things I enjoy about the nursery is that they can both play together in a large open space with free flow access to the outdoor area. There is an excellent mix of focused learning but also free play which enables them to chose each day what they would like to do. Meals provided by Village End are all freshly prepared, however, I can always provide a packed lunch. The nursery has its own app which as a working parent is very convenient. I can extend my bookings, add extra sessions, change contact details any time. The nursery hours are extremely flexible, my 30 free hours can be used any time. The online learning journal is a great way for parents to feel part of the child’s learning. I love seeing all the pictures!

Thank you Sarah for your wonderful comments it’s been and still is a utter pleasure caring for your 2 lovely children! I know that you chose Village End because you felt that your youngest would settle much quicker if they had their older sibling by their side and in the same room and shared the same garden space. Well, I can honestly say that a year on and they still play together on a daily bases. A number of other parents have chosen Village End for the very same reason. it’s so special to see children who get upset or have a fall go running to their nearest and dearest when in need of a quick reassuring cuddle!

7 May 2019: Fiona M (Mother of Child)
Village End has been an amazing setting for my daughter who has been there for over 18 months now. She absolutely loves attending and loves the staff too. They are so welcoming and caring. The children have lots of space and excellent resources to play and learn with. Also, there is a nice large garden too so the children get lots of outside time too. They are so flexible with hours and they have an app where you can easily change or extend a booking. This facility has been excellent for us as not having a family network nearby we have had to call on them a few times for last minute help. It’s also affordable compared to a lot of settings in the area and you can use your funded hours at times that suit you. You can add meals as an extra or just take a packed lunch but my daughter has the meals and really enjoys them. They all sit down together with the staff and have meals together. Can’t fault the place and thoroughly recommend!

Many thanks for your kind comments. Not long left before your daughter starts big school! I’m so glad she has enjoyed her time here, I can hear her voice in the background as I write this reply. Regarding 30 hours per week funding, A few other parents have started their child here because they could use the funding on the days that suited them. She will be dearly missed from September when she goes to big school but I’m sure we’ll see her from time to time at Mini Camp during the school holidays.
