I would like to take this opportunity to inform you about upcoming changes we will be making to both our safeguarding and data protection policies as of 25th May 2018.
Village End App
Very shortly you will be able to conveniently communicate with Village End staff by using our very own App. Our App has been built internally with privacy and security in mind. Along with many other handy features, you will be able to quickly book, extend, amend, or cancel childcare whilst on the move.
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
All parents must confirm how they wish to be contacted from 25th May 2018. A contact preference link can be found at the bottom of the page. All child related data that we hold and are not legally required to keep will be deleted or shredded by 25th May 2018.
In future, photographs taken of children at our setting or whist on outings by members of our staff will only ever be displayed on our noticeboard located in our reception area or inside children’s learning journey folders. No photos will ever be posted or uploaded online to social media websites, such as Facebook or Twitter.
‘One Touch’ is a secure parents private notification portal included on our new App. This is the only way we will share photographs of children electronically in the future. Parents will receive a private push notification should we have a photo that we wish to share.
Data Protection Officer
From 25th May, Robert Fielder will take on the role as Data Protection Officer. Tracey Fielder will remain Safeguarding Officer and Samantha Barton Deputy Safeguarding Officer. New updated policies and procedures can be found on our website.
New Parents & Ad Hoc Parents
Parents who have recently contacted us and expressed interest in a future place at Village End, or use our services infrequently on an Ad Hoc basis are also required to choose their permission preferences. Failure to do so could result in us deleting information, closing accounts and restricting/limiting use of our App.
